Nature, Landscape & Wildlife

WHAT I DO

My passion is Landscape, Nature & Wildlife Photography. As a conservation photographer and author I want to ignite imaginations, illuminate the challenges our natural world is facing, and shine a spotlight on our disappearing natural resources.

Telling stories through the camera lens of a wannabe naturalist. If you enjoy in this website, you obviously care about climate change and the environment and you may enjoy this article about what is a wannabe naturalist. In other words, enjoy the journey and follow along as I travel the world with my camera!

Landscape

Landscape photography shows spaces within our natural world, sometimes vast and unending, but other times small and intimate. Landscape photographs typically capture nature but can also focus on man-made features like buildings, bridges or lighthouses.

Wildlife

Wildlife photography is a genre of photography concerned with documenting various forms of wildlife in their natural habitat.  Therefore, as a photographer I am first and foremost a witness to wildlife. I always show respect for the animals and do not interfere with the their behavior.

Nature

Nature photography covers a wide range of photography taken outdoors and devoted to displaying natural elements such as plants, trees, flowers, fungi and more (botanical organisms). As an amateur naturalist, I’m inspired by nature and capture my fascination in photography.

Nature Books

Books by author and photographer Eugene L Brill. The goal of author and photographer Eugene L Brill is to use photography to bring history to life. As you cannot take pictures of what life was like while history was unfolding, Eugene captures history by visiting and photographing locations where history was made. It gives you a sense of understanding to fiction and non-fiction author Jean Specks and hopefully bring the stories to life!

ABOUT EUGENE

EUGENE BRILL is a landscape, nature, wildlife, and travel photographer and author. He is the publisher of The Wannabe Naturalist® magazine. He does not hold a PhD in environmental science, botany, or another scientific field, however he is a dedicated student of nature, as well as an avid gardener, sustainable landscape designer, and photographer.

Although Eugene does not speak with the vocabulary of taxonomic groupings, species, and genera, he can communicate clearly with “Joe Public” in language easy to understand—thanks to his MBA in business/marketing and mentoring of startup entrepreneurs. He loves to share knowledge about nature, and he believes that Nature Deficit Disorder (NDD) is real, agreeing that “forest bathing” (fully clothed, of course . . . ) makes us happier, healthier, and more creative.
